Vitruvian Fitness™ is a training studio, not a gym. All exercise programs are lead by expert coaches and instructors who are passionate about helping you achieve your goals.

Personal Training

As a personal training client, you will be participating in an exercise program designed specifically for you based on your starting point and your goals. The training program takes into consideration your individual strengths, weaknesses, exercise history, any injuries you may have now or in the past, goals and dreams. We tailor the program around what you want to get out of it.

Almost all of our training is done in a semi-private environment. That means, when you work out, there will be up to 4 other people working out with you although each of you will be performing your own customized work out.

We also have private one-on-one training available when appropriate.

Here’s how it works:

  • Your first session is a private one-on-one consultation. This is where we learn about you and what you want to accomplish with your training. This includes:
  • Discussion about your exercise history
  • Listing of current or past injuries
  • Goal setting
  • Functional Movement Screen™
  • After your private session, we will create your customized training program that includes flexibility, strength, corrective exercise and cardiovascular work to get you on the track to meet your goals.
  • We have several training packages to choose from that give you the option of how frequently you’ll train. The clients who get the best results train 2 or 3 times per week and take 1 or 2 group classes every week.
  • We encourage you to arrive about 5-10 minutes before your workout is scheduled and you’ll be done somewhere between 50 and 60 minutes.

Small Group Exercise Classes

Some people love group exercise classes for the variety, the camaraderie and the economy. Our group exercise classes also complement our personal training quite well. We offer Indoor Cycling, TRX™ Suspension Training, Boot Camps, Yoga classes and fun hybrids of these class types. All classes last 50 – 60 minutes and can be purchased a couple different ways — punch passes or unlimited monthly programs. Class sizes are capped between 8 and 12 participants and all classes are appropriate for all fitness levels.

TRX™ Suspension Training Classes: The suspension trainer is simple set of adjustable nylon straps hanging from above that allow you to leverage your own body-weight as the resistance you need to challenge yourself. The system is infinitely adjustable so every person can make the exercise as challenging or as easy as necessary. This makes suspension training appropriate for all levels from absolute novice to expert. Imagine having a set of weights ranging from 1 to 200+ pounds — there’s something for everyone. This class is appropriate for all fitness levels.

Every exercise engages your core and the target muscle group. Every total-body workout will work improve your core strength, overall strength, balance, power, flexibility and cardio.

Indoor Cycling (Spinning) Classes: We ride the Keiser® M3 bikes at Vitruvian Fitness. This bike has a lightweight flywheel on the back of the bike and uses magnetic resistance to increase or decrease the degree of difficulty. Each bike has its own computer that displays your cadence, power output in watts, heart rate, gear and elapsed time – all of which provides real feedback to monitor your effort and progress. This class is appropriate for all fitness levels.

All bikes have combination pedals that work with regular shoes or Shimano SPD cleats. The computer is also compatible with your Polar Heart Rate Monitor. This bike is truly spectacular — once you ride this bike, you won’t want to ride any other indoor bike.

Vitruvian Boot Camps: Our Boot Camps offer a combination of strength and conditioning exercises that include a perfectly balanced variety of strength training, cardio and flexibility. Strengthen your core, lose weight, tone up and develop new strengths. This class is appropriate for all fitness levels.

Vitruvian Yoga Flow: Vitruvian Yoga Flow is a rejuvenating blend of yoga asanas (postures) that create greater flexibility in the mind and body through attention to alignment and deep breathing. Reconnect with calm while toning your muscles, restoring your balance and tapping into your intuition. This class is suitable for all levels — no previous yoga experience (or flexibility!) necessary. This class is appropriate for all fitness levels.

Gears, Grips & Guts! ™:  This is a hybrid class combining indoor cycling with TRX. About 25 minutes of intense cycling drills followed by about 25 minutes of core, upper body and backside strength work on the suspension trainers. This class is appropriate for all fitness levels.

Mats & Straps™: This is also a hybrid class combining yoga with TRX to gently enhance your strength, balance, tone and breath. Bring your mat or borrow one of ours. This is a barefoot class. This class is appropriate for all fitness levels.

Sports Performance Enhancement

If your goal is to compete at an elite level, our Functional Sports Performance Training is the right option for you. Our coaches understand the unique strength and conditioning demands of your sport and will customize the training program to prepare you for your season or try-outs or for a specific event. Our functional approach starts with movement and tissue quality and then adds strength, speed, agility and explosive power where you need it to perform at your peak. Of equal importance, our approach to strength and conditioning is designed to keep you in the game competing where you belong – not on the trainer’s table or on the Disabled List.

In the Sports Performance program, you will be working out side-by-side with our other personal training clients. Your workouts will last about an hour and the program is written to achieve maximum results in 6-week blocks. Depending on your needs, you have the option to choose between 1, 2, 3 or 4 sessions per week.

We have trained athletes in each of these arenas: Ironman Triathlon, USA Cycling, high school and club level volleyball; NCAA Division III hockey, NCAA Division III volleyball and NCAA cross-country; USA Olympic Team Handball; The Dakar Motorbike Rally; Semi-Pro Hockey.

Cancellation Policy

Group Fitness Classes or Personal Training Sessions

The third time (and each time subsequently) that you “no call/no show” for your class or personal training session OR you cancel your reservation within 10 hours, we will charge your credit card $15 for a group class or $25 for a personal training session.

If the class you want to take is full, put yourself on the waitlist. If you are on the waitlist, we assume that you want to take the class even if you made your reservation weeks in advance. Managing the waitlist is a manual process for us. So, when you get the notification that you’re in, please take the following actions:

  • When you receive the email that says you’ve made it into the class, please reply Yes or No.
  • You must let us know either way. If you can't make it, the next person in line will get the opportunity to attend the class but won't know unless you cancel.
  • If you are no longer able or do not want to take the class, remove yourself from the wait list.
